Psyched out !!!

I have always loved watching TV shows since I was a kid .. and I have found thier quality has gone down as i grew older ...

Then i found this really cool series ... which just reminds me of TV shows ... how they were .. the good old times :) !!

I have just now finished watching my first episode of Psych ... ita a detective show about a guy who has a special 'psychic' talent ... uses it to solve crime cases ... :) ...

A perfect balance of suspense, an excellent plot, a superb concept and humour make it really worth a watch !!! Its totally cool ... nothing too loud, nothing too gaudy ... Its amazing howyou can have such simplicity and still manage to be cool :)

Luv,

Update ... again !!

Hi guys !! Its been a long time ...

After i typed the last post , the next few days were quite boring and dull ... perhaps the most boring days of my life ... I just wanted to GET OUT of Pilani somehow ...

The excuse came during navratri ... I ran off to Delhi for the poojas ...

I had an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME time, all on my own, free food and sleep ( I used to sleep in the auditorium where the poojas were conducted ... quite an adventure :) ), late night seva, a chat with the sounds guy (he said he did his adv. courses and DSNs for free .. without doing the basic course .. thanks to Rishi Nityapragya ). During these 2-3 days I had some UNFORGETTABLE moments ...

gazing at the TALL hanuman murti at chattarpur mandir ... (standing near its feet, seems to touch the sky :) )

Visit to Chattarpur Devi mandir, has REALLY beautiful murtis of Durga, Kali, Saraswati, Lakshmi ... one of the most beautiful temples I have ever visited ...

happily dozing during one of the poojas and finding myself dancing wildly THE NEXT SECOND for the bhajan Durge Jai Jai Maa ...

Rishi N vibrating, eyes closed, as if in a trance when the water from the sacred kalash was poured over him ... The next time I am going to be in Bangalore Ashram for navratri ...

Then I had 2 days free before going home for the oasis break ... so i decided to visit Amritsar ... It was a BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL experience, also quite adventerous and funny !! ... will post about that soon !!

Also please start FOLLOWING my blog ... I promise I will be more regular in posting ...

Love

Watching Movies

It is one of the major ways BITsians do thier timepass (or timewaste ?!?). This habit has crippled many a BITSian, robbing people of thier grades, their stature in BITSian society etc.. etc.. It is one of the most common ways BITSians make themselves feel guilty. Now to those of you who feel guilty about watching too many movies ... here's what i have to say :

Movies are one of the most profound sources of wisdom. They are obviously inspired by real life. Watching a movie reminds you of life from a larger perspective, shows you life takes u-turns even from the worst situations. They also give you lots of different ideas which you can implement in real life, ranging from playing pranks to propsing. Movies make you quick-witted, sharp and a great thinker ... and these qualities are enough for you to have a successful life. movies give you hope and relief when you see people emerging successful facing similar challenges as you are. Like Udaan, which i watched recently, is about a guy who hates engineering and runs away from his house to become a writer. Many movies are coming up on similar themes ...

A movie can be your best friend.

Any other nice things about movies you can think of ?

PS Do watch Udaan, its awesome ! :)

Pilani ...

Did padmasadhana. Feeling really blissful, went out of campus. Sat in front of the bus stand, a glass of papaya shake and a plate of boondis in my hand. There was a nice blend of quietude, peace coupled with the sounds of evening Pilani traffic on rajgarh road. at that time, i really felt a part of Pilani, sitting in the midst of people busily carrying out thier everyday lives.

"Bhau, ek bisleri ki botal la dena ... ek liter waali ..."

Totally absorbed in my own thoughts, i never looked to see the asker, yet for some reason, that particular sentence stood out in my mind. maybe it was the language, so typically rural ... and i loved hearing it, maybe just as how a european tourist would love seeing cows and naked children on Indian streets. Maybe the feeling was so strong because a year later i would be back to Chennai, where i won't get to hear this kind of language, this being my last year at college ...

whatever the reason, at that very moment, i felt a surge of love and belongingness with Pilani, its people, . I just felt really nice to have been here ... The simplicity of the people here is just stunning ...
